Support from the industry

Over recent weeks the world’s gaze has been firmly fixed upon the effects of the COVID-19 virus – and by extension that of the business world also. There have been so many industries that are not only looking at alternative business models to survive but also and more importantly, that can have an impact and contribute to the current situation. The Exhibition Industry is no different! Venues, organisers, suppliers and volunteers across the UK have been working tirelessly to provide services to help support the nationwide crisis.
The first NHS Nightingale hospital at ExCeL London, one of many, was officially opened by HRH Prince Charles. The new hospital, established in under a fortnight, is available as patients across London and the south of England need it.
The Nightingales are part of a nationwide effort to respond to the greatest global health emergency in more than a century. Other major venues such as NEC Birmingham and Manchester Central have followed – supporting local communities with invaluable resources at this time of need.
These measures mean that capacity still exists in hospitals to deal with coronavirus, with the Nightingales standing ready if local services need them beyond that.
